The Senior Commercial Specialist role is instrumental in managing supplier performance and optimising spend while enhancing the overall customer experience across the global lounge network. The Senior Commercial Specialist will collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives, shape the future supplier roadmap, managing contract performance and negotiations, support tenders and overseeing billing processes to ensure the financial success and overall performance of the lounge portfolio. 

In this role, the Senior Commercial Specialist will manage a small team whom is responsible for all trend analysis, billing, continuous improvement and reporting requirements across Qantas Lounges spend base. Additionally, this role will work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless lounge operations, from supplier strategy to operational executions.  

The role also involves developing a deep understanding of Lounge spend, supplier performance and management, analysing trends, identifying risks and opportunities, and continuously providing insights into improving systems and processes to support the long-term success of the lounge network. This position offers an exciting opportunity for those with strong commercial acumen and a passion for improving customer experiences. 

You’ll have: 

  • 5+ years’ experience in commercial analytics and supplier performance management 
  • Strong experience in managing external stakeholders with proven experience in managing supplier performance
  • Proven experience in managing commercial portfolios, ideally within a customer-focused or hospitality environment. 
  • Strong negotiation skills with experience in managing contracts and building strategic supplier relationships. 
  • Expertise in financial management, including budgeting, billing, and invoicing, with the ability to drive P&L performance. 
  • Excellent analytical skills, with a track record of identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve business outcomes. 
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure. 
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, ensuring smooth collaboration and issue resolution across teams. 
  • A solid understanding of financial analysis and the ability to apply insights for business growth and operational improvements. 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders, both internal and external, to drive business results. 
  • A passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences and optimizing operational efficiencies.
