The Organisational Development Manager is responsible for contributing to the execution of our Group People strategy with a specific focus on Leadership and Professional Development. The role is required to analyse Group needs at a strategic and business unit level and translate those needs into the design and delivery of practical, aligned and cost effective solutions. This position must adopt a consultative approach focused on integrating best practice, researched and practical knowledge, whilst collaboratively partnering with the People Community, external providers and Qantas Group Business Leaders.

This role will also require significant project management responsibilities, ensuring successful implementation by planning with a flexible approach to account for the changing demands of the business. Facilitation, coaching and exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence and direct others, is especially required.

Experience with designing and embedding capability frameworks for large-scale workforces across the employee life-cycle will be highly regarded.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • 5-7 years’ experience in Organisational Development with direct responsibility for the design and implementation of Leadership and Professional Development programs in a medium to large organisation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Organisational Psychology, Human Resources or related field
  • Significant Organisational Development experience and capability preferably in Leadership Development, Talent and/or Culture within fast-paced professional and/or operational environments
  • Extensive experience in the design, leading and delivering of strategic people programs and services in a commercial environment
  • Ability to initiate and build relationships with senior leaders, and a reputation for sound judgement, advice, influencing leaders
  • Highly skilled in managing a variety of tasks simultaneously in the face of changing priorities and requirements, whilst maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Sound experience in influencing key decision makers in the face of resistance to achieve problem resolution by exhibiting a high level of emotional intelligence
  • Demonstrate strong executive presence in Senior Leader communication, coaching and facilitation
  • Apply knowledge of functional human resources disciplines to business challenges, including recruitment, capability development, performance management, adult learning, and organisational development
  • Critical and creative thinking to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and approaches to problems
