  • Oversee network proposals, balancing commercial demand, cost efficiency, fleet capacity and operational resources

The Manager, International Network Planning is responsible for leading the development and execution of international network strategies to optimise profitability and performance. This includes overseeing market analysis, capacity planning, and stakeholder engagement. The role also involves managing route planning, with close collaboration with scheduling, charters and strategy teams to ensure alignment with broader Qantas Group objectives. Additionally, the manager will lead and develop a team of skilled analysts, ensuring continuous performance monitoring and strategic decision-making across the international network.

You’ll have –

  • 8-10 years’ experience in the airline environment, including strong commercial and operational experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in a logical and/or analytical discipline such as economics, mathematics, business, IT, engineering, or aviation
  • Extensive experience across a number of commercial and /or operational airline
    functional areas.
  • Strong airline operational knowledge and understanding of aviation regulatory environment
  • Proven ability to think through complex problems and lateral approach to problem solving
  • Extensive understanding of all aspects of the airline industry and of the critical
    interdependencies which impact network development.
  • Solid understanding of Qantas Group and other competitor domestic and
    international schedule and offerings
  • Strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills, including business case development for senior leadership
  • Proven proficiency in passenger demand modelling and yield forecasting techniques, including ability to interpret Profit & Loss statements and derive cost estimates for current
    and proposed flying
  • Advanced analytical skills to interpret source and interpret complex data along with understanding of airline economics and the drivers of demand and costs
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise workload whilst meeting strict deadlines
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work
  • Ability to maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders with track record of building trust with Senior Management and peers
  • Leadership experience including people management and ability to motivate teams to deliver required outcomes
