Job Description

  • Lead and shape sustainability and climate strategy  
  • Lead long-term climate resilience and scenario planning for the Group 
  • Lead development and implementation of the Group’s nature strategy  
  • Drive high-level engagement with government, industry associations, and investor advocacy groups.

​As the Manager of Climate Change Strategy, you'll lead our long-term climate resilience strategy, scenario analysis, and the development and implementation of our comprehensive nature strategy. You'll play a critical role, engaging directly with high-level stakeholders including government bodies, industry associations, and investor advocacy groups, shaping strategic outcomes aligned with our sustainability goals. Your role will be pivotal in influencing Qantas’ sustainability vision, providing strategic insights that will be embedded across the Group’s decision-making frameworks and investment strategies. 

You’ll have – 

  • 3+ years in a top-tier consulting/professional services firm or within a corporate sustainability/strategy team. 
  • Tertiary qualification in law, finance, engineering, or a similar technical field. 
  • Strong technical skills in sustainability and climate policy, with working knowledge of government and industry regulations – including ASRS reporting requirements 
  • Ability to execute investments and commercial agreements with a strategic mindset. 
  • Proven experience in developing and managing high-level climate policy relationships with government, think tanks, industry associations, and investor advocacy groups. 
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with senior-level cross-functional teams. 
  • Significant experience working in large corporates, reporting to GLT/C-Suite on specialist subjects. 
  • Highly developed communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills across diverse groups.
