As a Ground support equipment Leading Hand, you will be responsible for servicing and repairing all Ground Support Equipment (GSE) on a day-to-day basis at the Adelaide GSE Domestic and International Workshops. Your new role will see you leading the Ground Support Equipment team to ensure essential utilities and equipment are well maintained, and available to sustain operational activities. You will be involved in providing support and recommendations to the team to encourage greater efficiency and uphold quality maintenance of service vehicles, work areas and workshops.

You’ll Have –

  • Trade certificate in Light/Heavy Mechanical trade or Auto Electrician 
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to effectively manage demanding maintenance schedules
  • Demonstrated leadership and organisational skills to efficiently meet performance requirements in a changing work environment;
  • Ability to delegate work to tradesmen / skillsets to best suit daily workload demands.
  • Commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement principles
  • Proven problem-solving skills, particularly when under pressure
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff within Qantas and other Customers, particularly in the operational areas
  • Commitment to ensure facilities, equipment and environment in areas of responsibility are properly maintained
  • Sound computer literacy
  • Understanding of KPI's throughout the designated work group.
