Job Description

  • Work on challenging and exciting initiatives that have a tangible impact

  • 12-month fixed term role based at our head office in Collingwood with an opportunity to convert to permanent

If you’ve ever thought about a career in aviation — now is the perfect time to take off with Jetstar! We are undertaking one of the biggest recruitment campaigns in our 19-year-history. Join us during an exciting period as we welcome more state-of-the-art aircraft, launch new international routes and continue our mission to help more people take off through low fares.

We currently have an opportunity for a commercially astute individual to join our Integrated Planning team as a Senior Planning Analyst. The key function of this role is to ensure Jetstar’s schedule is commercially viable, operationally executable, and ready for sale by governing both short and long-term planning processes and coordinating cross-functional alignment between Network Planning, Scheduling, and Operations.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about the aviation industry, have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and can derive business solutions from complex data. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, be a team player, and have strong communication skills. This is a great role for an ambitious individual looking to accelerate their career within the aviation industry. The Senior Planning Analyst role provides excellent grounding in understanding how an airline business works – very few roles in the organisation have as much breadth working on high-impact problems.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills & experience:

  • Systems thinking: Ability to understand complex, interconnected processes and synthesise clear recommendations for improvement
  • Stakeholder influence: Clear written and verbal communication that tells a story, highlights key insights, and influences business decisions
  • Ownership mentality: Self-directed approach to problem-solving and seeing issues through to resolution with a proven track record of driving change
  • Structured approach: Experience managing governance processes or coordinating cross-functional forums
  • Commercial acumen: Understand how planning decisions impact business performance while respecting operational constraints
  • Airline experience: Exposure to airline scheduling, network planning, fleet planning, workforce planning and/or engineering is highly valued
