Job Description

  • Join QantasLink as Senior Manager Airports Commercial Strategy and take ownership of the commercial aspects and contract oversight of our ground handling portfolio valued at over $180m p.a.
  • Senior leadership role required to partner with internal and external stakeholders to devise and implement QantasLink’s commercial ground handling strategy across 85 airports, including contract, government regulated, charter and scheduled airline services.
  • Deliver strong operational performance through fit-for-purpose commercial arrangements, enabled by trust-based relationships with our internal stakeholders and external partners.

As Senior Manager, Airports Commercial Strategy, you will be responsible for defining and leading QantasLink’s ground handling strategy with a strong performance mindset. This role translates strategic concepts into actionable plans that drive operational excellence and deliver financial outcomes.

You’ll oversee commercial operations across a broad supplier portfolio, managing Standard Ground Handling Agreements (SGHAs) and Service Level Commitments through a standardised commercial framework. A core part of the role involves building and maintaining trusted relationships with suppliers, government departments, and senior stakeholders across the Qantas Group.

You’ll also manage contract administration and reporting for Government Regulated Routes. With a focus on performance, you’ll lead contract negotiations, monitor supplier performance, mitigate risks, and identify commercial opportunities that support transformation and long-term success.


To be successful you will have:

  • Deep understanding of Standard Ground Handling Agreements (SGHAs), precedent contracts, and service level management across complex supplier portfolios
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven experience in financial planning, contract negotiation, and identifying opportunities for business improvement
  • Advanced influencing and decision-making skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and drive alignment with strategic objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and contribute to high-performing, lean, and collaborative teams, with a flexible and results-driven approach
  • Experience managing government contracts, including administration and reporting for regulated routes
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, government bodies, and senior leadership
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation capabilities
  • Solid understanding of aviation industry standards and frameworks, including IGOM and ISAGO
