Job Description

  • Play a key role in helping to deliver strategic HR outcomes across the New Zealand and Pacific Islands region 
  • Business partner with and influence a broad stakeholder group across corporate and frontline operational environments 
  • Full-time permanent position based in Auckland, New Zealand (required to work across Auckland Airport and CBD office locations)

The Senior Consultant, People is a key business partner supporting a broad stakeholder group across diverse and exciting Services portfolio across New Zealand and Pacific Islands. As a trusted advisor, you’ll work closely with leaders to shape the workforce needed to deliver on strategic, commercial, and operational priorities. You’ll bring a deep understanding of the employee lifecycle and provide expert guidance across both corporate and frontline operational environments. 

 

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a broad range of strategic initiatives while also supporting day-to-day people activity. You’ll play a key role in embedding the Strategic People Plan, supporting leadership development, and driving cultural alignment across the Group. 

 

 

What you’ll bring to the role: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline 
  • Relevant experience partnering with complex, fast-paced operational businesses 
  • Demonstrated business partnering and coaching skills with the ability to develop effective leaders and teams 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels 
  • Strong resilience and agility, with previous experience in the design and delivery of people programs in an operational environment 
  • Proven ability to use analytical & pragmatic thinking to solve complex problems 
  • Experience in an industrial relations landscape and proven ability to form constructive relationships with relevant stakeholders 
  • Ability to deliver effective and efficient transactional HR activity across the employee life cycle, including experience with the Workday employee data management system 
  • Experience in organisation design and development of cultural change programs desirable 
  • The ability to work independently while remaining highly collaborative and connected to a broader team  
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in both technical and business contexts  
  • Aviation industry experience is highly regarded  
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically as required
