The Senior Category Portfolio Manager is responsible for the management of a portfolio of categories within Qantas Marketplace, a highly curated e-commerce store that allows members to use and earn Qantas Points to shop at Qantas. The position is responsible for developing and executing the category strategies, driving increased profitability and growth, identifying opportunities to maximise commercial outcomes with partners and leading a range of key strategic projects that will innovate and transform the business.

What you’ll bring to the role –

  • Degree in a related discipline such as eCommerce, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or Business Management Qualification
  • 10+ years of successful and significant experience with a large organisation in eCommerce, category management, retail buying or strategic sourcing
  • Demonstrate an understanding of end-to-end supply chain responsibilities including logistics, production planning, and procurement in a fast-paced online environment
  • Demonstrable commercial awareness and a passion for delivering commercially astute outcomes
  • Possess highly developed stakeholder relationship management skills, both internally within, and externally to the company at a senior level
  • Be an experienced “change agent” with the gravitas and skill to negotiate a significant programme of change with the key stakeholders within the business.
  • Proven experience in creation and execution of business strategy and the steps required to achieve financial objectives including retail margins, sales and OTB spend.
  • Commercial astuteness coupled with effective communication and proven leadership skills to deliver structured continuous improvement initiatives and results
  • Highly articulate in both written and verbal communication skills, and extensive experience in presenting to senior and C-suite management
  • Experience in leading a large team to achieve common goals including, people development, resource allocation, motivating staff to inspire high performance and achievement of exceptional results
